Digital Infrared
Aug 7 2007, 11:29 PM EDT
Hi, I started out with a Minolta DiMage 7 with either an opaque infrared filter, or a deep red... worked well because of the electronic viewfinder. Now I have a converted Nikon D100 that is too good to be true. I shot Kodak HIE for 20+ years and never got the control and shadow detail I get in the digital. It is simply amazing. I want to ultimately move up to a 10 megapixel SLR when I can afford to, more for the speed of shooting than the actual sensor size... I shoot models and have missed a few nice shots while the D100 was writing. Now I just need to find a digital replacement for Kodak EIR... I have been shooting this film for about 8 years, and cross processing in C-41 chemistry. Originally I was printing the EIR in the color darkroom, but no longer have that capability, and now scan it to make an Epson print. Any suggestions for a digital false color infrared simulating EIR are greatly appreciated. Cheers from Texas, USA. Do you find this valuable?
